The Kintsugi by Alec Bradley

The Kintsugi by Alec Bradley Cigars had been in the works for about three years and it was finally released with great fanfare at the 2016 IPCPR in Las Vegas. The pre-release hype built this new cigar into something that it just couldn’t live up to, which seems to be par for the course these days (see Tatuaje Havana VI, Headley Grange, etc.). Fortunately, the final product is actually pretty good despite its shortcomings.
The Kintsugi by Alec Bradley was created to pay homage to the Japanese art of Kintsugi, which means golden joinery in English. The Japanese practice of Kintsugi is an art form that aims to mend broken pottery by combining the broken pieces with lacquer and adding gold or silver powder, instead of creating something new altogether.
The Kintsugi by Alec Bradley
The kintsugi is a cigar made with an Ecuadorian sun grown wrapper, Connecticut binder and choice filler blend from Nicaragua and Honduras. The secret ingredient was created by Alec Bradley in 2005. This unique blend had been kept hidden for years until it was ready to be released to make its mark at the 2016 IPCPR Cigar Expo in Las Vegas.
When you light up your first Alec Bradley kintsugi you will notice a sweet taste accompanied with an earthy flavor, followed with a spice that gets stronger as it progresses down through the smoke. This cigar is full of complexity and very flavorful which makes for one of my favorite cigars to date!

The Alec Bradley name is a sure thing for a great smoke. This same concept can be seen in The Kintsugi by Alec Bradley, which brings together a blend of Nicaraguan fillers and binders—grown from tobaccos that have been aged over 6 years!—that are expertly melded together using an incredibly complex process called entubar.

Review of The Alec Bradley kintsugi Cigar
This cigar was a smooth and mild experience that I think would be a perfect smoke for an experienced and new smoker. If you haven’t tried one yet, I recommend giving it a try. It is one of my favorite cigars to date. We have some great prices on The Kintsugi. It has an excellent texture, but still managed to maintain a nice smoky flavour, which was very interesting. The wrapper is delicate on these cigars, so remember not to squeeze too hard when holding them or you might break them.
I like that Alec Bradley’s cigar features a great presentation and tastes smooth and mild. I would recommend giving one of these cigars a try if you haven’t tried it yet. They are perfect for beginner smokers who want to get into it and for more experienced smokers looking for a daily smoke. These cigars will always be in my humidor.
What we love…
The cigar looks just great with one of the best cigar bands on the market, the inital cut and light gives you a perfect draw and burn with some complex flavors. The second third is smooth, medium bodied with notes of ceder, earth and slight cream which then moves up a slight tick up on strenth for the final third but continues with the same high quality tobacco flavors until the finish.
We rate the cigar very hightly and it definatly takes a spot in out top 3 cigars.
